Many of you makers have asked about sewing the Hoodie dress as more of a sweater dress worn for lazy days on the sofa. This is perfectly workable, but we would suggest a more sturdy and heavyweight jersey fabric that is not too stretchy. This will allow for the dress to be sewn with overall 1-needle stitches without stretching the fabric too much. You may also be helped if adding 1 cm strips of fusible interfacing to the wrong side of fabric along the outer edges of the pockets to avoid them from stretching. If you have a sewing machine that includes elastic stitches or an overlock you could cut off 0,5 cm of the 1 cm seam allowance where you would want to assemble with elastic seam. We’re confident you’ll figure out what is most convenient for the fabric you want to use.
Could the Hoodie dress be sewn in a French Terry, fleece or other jersey material ?
